Fic: "The Absence" (2/2)

Title: The Absence
Ship: Draco/Hermione
Rating: R
Summary: It all begins when Draco is declared insane.
A/N: Two years ago, I promised (probably in exchange for some Orlando/Leila fic) [info]onecrimsontie a D/Hr fic. So, for [info]onecrimsontie--for international phone calls and cheer packages, everything in between.

Big thank you to [info]streetscribbles for reading this monster and brainstorming titles with me :D It's been a long, painful process. Thank you for helping me with it!

Atrophy In The Library

Wow. There were so many different styled fics, and it was a fun experience :) I signed up on a whim, and I'm glad I did. Am proud of fic, and flattered and happy that people enjoyed it.

Honored by the readers at [info]dmhgficexchange:

And thank you to whoever nominated the fic at Dangerous Liasons Awards and the readers who voted there!

Title: Atrophy in the Library
Ship: Draco/Hermione
Rating: R
Disclaimer: Names, terms, etc. don't belong to me. The book titles do, however. Took me the better part of an hour trying to make them up *headdesk*
Author's Notes: Written for the [info]dmhgficexchange. HBP spoilers are included. Special thanks to onecrimsontie for the usual beta and feedback routine.
Summary: Hermione finds her own personal library in Draco Malfoy.

( It’s not like they’re friends. )

Am back at school. Jetlagged. Going to sleep now, so as to wake up for 9 o'clock class tomorrow morning.

"And We'll Run (An Easier Way)"

For my dear [info]streetscribbles, have heart, my dear.

Title: And We'll Run (An Easier Way)
Ship: Draco/Hermione
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: Mild HBP spoilers. Took a canon HBP event and twisted it.
Summary: Sacrifices are made early on in the war.

She could barely look at him, but the last thing she wanted was to look away. )

If you're looking for D/G, look here for "Economy In Love."

"This Side of the Secret"

For [info]streetscribbles; this is her Christmas ficlet. I have to warn you, Bets, it's a little more on the angsty side than I would have liked to make it, but I didn't know how to make it more fluffy.

Betty, you rock :) Thanks for your patience as I rambled on and worried about colleges and school and being so supportive and making me laugh. Even though you don't like Orlando, we're still friends. This says a great deal, I imagine ;D I'm really sorry this came so late (I was nitpicking at it forever), but anyway, here's your "mystery ship" :D

Title: "This Side of the Secret"
Ship: (NUH-UH, BETS) It's not D/G.
Rating: PG-13
Summary: Draco Malfoy has a secret, and he's not the only one who keeps it. There are some worse fates, but not many much worse than this.

Pansy was used to getting the short end of things in life. )

Valentine's Day third set

My paid account expired today - thank you, [info]bubbleforest! It was really fun just to see what it was like, and the 15 icons limit was love. Thank you so much! And I had some free time today at school, so I downloaded a few of Vienna Teng's songs. She's awesome. Although "Gravity" is my favorite (could be the Fitz/Fool relationship :D), her songs are really, really nice and lovely. Must remember to send them to you the next time I catch you online.

And I have a question - even though the paid account expired, I still have this Component layout - I know that I can't edit it anymore, but does anyone know if I switch layouts, can I still get back to using this one?

And onto the Valentine's Day drabbles/ficlets. I'm so not doing this in alphabetical order now. Anyway, I did [info]_citanul and [info]streetscribbles today, which was a novel experience - I've never written Fred/Hermione (and found I'm not so good at it) and Draco/Hermione - well, I've never been good at that ship either. And man - what the hell. My "Valentine's Day drabbles" are progressing into "post-Valentine's Days ficlets."

Recipient: [info]_citanul
Message: You’re nice and friendly, and I like talking to you about your thoughts on HP fandom the few times we’ve talked through comments <3 I really appreciate your comments on my writing, and you totally encouraged my Fred/Hermione liking :) Have a great day!

Title: Secret Codes
Ship: Fred/Hermione
Rating: PG-13

Secret codes and subtle signals. Strange how it can all get mixed up. )

Recipient: [info]streetscribbles
Message: Betty, you’re crazy fun! You make me laugh, and you’ve become one of my closest friends. Thanks for all the songs and support <3 Draco and Hermione at last, and remember, this is the third D/Hr I’ve ever written, and I think it’s the best out of the three, and that’s not saying much, I’m sorry :\

Title: Backwards Arithmacy
Ship: Draco/Hermione
Rating: PG-13

What a strange world they lived in, when laws of numbers did not add up. )

Unexpected Gift, and "Eggnog" snippet

All righty. [info]onecrimsontie (AE) wrote me this! I am so giggly right now. It's full of inside jokes and my idiosyncrasies (AHA. Bet some of you are wondering how I spelled that correctly. Spellcheck. Godsent.) played out to the hilt. If you want a look at how I can get sometimes, read the fic. On second thought, don't, it could ruin my sterling reputation. (COUGHDROP, Jenn?)

Also, I've finished two more Christmas ficlets, which shall be posted soon (tomorrow, providing I don't forget).

And then because I promised and because it is a challenge and because [info]onecrimsontie is my older sister, I shall now try my hand at Draco/Hermione (man, how DEEP is my love for you...). I will not be converted. I withstand. Moving along, it was hard. Hermione is hard to write. And whenever I get Draco and Harry in the same scene together, they end up tottering the line of reluctant friends and getting slashed. However, this is solidly D/Hr. Yep. Teehee. And Jenn has Blaise out on lend. Dunno when he'll be back.

ETA: TITLE CHANGE! From "Burnt Marshmallow" to "Eggnog" - yay!

Title: "Burnt Marshmallow" (Will Most Likely Be Retitled) "Eggnog" (May be retitled)
Ship: Draco/Hermione
Rating: PG-13
Summary: It's Christmastime at Hogwarts. The weather is cold, the nights are long, and in the time between midnight and dawn, lines and faces are blurred. It's easy for people to forget who they are in the morning. Featuring Hermione, Draco, guest appearences by Blaise, and Mistletoe.

This is a snippet from Part One (there are five parts total). Hermione Is Thoughtful, Harry is Grateful, and Draco Malfoy is Not Himself Late At Night (or, I could not think of a good title or summary or blurb).

just getting them in the same scene was hard work. )
